England: mameluke style sword
$1,800.00

Beautiful British made mameluke style sword.  Lovely ivory grips.  Beautifully acid etched blade with several panoplies of arms, each a different syle, along with usual flourishes and arabescues.  Blade marked "Hawkes Moseley and Sons, London.  Manufacturers to the Queen".  Double ringed nickeled scabbard with some surface age pitting, overall still very attractive with no dings or crushing.  Some have suggested this to be an early US Marine mameluke, but I can find nothing to verify that.  However, British swords usually carry the cypher of the monarch on the blade wherein this has none.  A very handsome sword.
