The Stahlhelm was the largest association of WWI veterans in Germany which thru their support behind Hitler based on his promise the restore the Kaiser if elected.  Instead, upon being elected he disbanded the Stahlhelm by eventually bringing it under the Reichskriegerbund.   Massive gorget on intricately designed chain.  Heavily silvered.  Great display piece.
