Germany: Police traffic sign
$695.00
WWII German Politzei traffic sign or paddle. Originally mounted on a short wooden pole for the manual control of traffic. This one has the veterans info scratched on the reverse. While this is in one sense damaging to the piece, it enhances its value by placing it right there by the GI who "obtained" it. Marked" P.F.C. George E. Ward, 59th Ord. Co., APO 464 c/o PM NY, NY". APO 464 was in Florence, Italy so this piece probably dates from the Italian Campaign. Very scarce original item as they were reused after the war by the removal of the eagle. Some chips and edge rusting, but still displays very well.
